I'd bet my savings that Herzog watched this before Aguirre. Boetticher gets a lot of mileage out of the stunning Florida vistas, and even though the whole thing's been done to death (Richard Carlson even LOOKS like Fonda in Fort Apache), it's rarely been done this well.
