Delightful satire of news culture, and an all-around funny film about a psychotic killer who is also a seemingly normal housewife. The murder scenes are probably the most comical I have ever seen in a film, and Kathleen Turner is wonderful in the title role. Like most Waters films, the minor characters are plenty interesting, weird, and perverted in their own rights, which helps keep the film from being one-dimensional. Drags with its pacing, but is an overall good picture.

Lightweight dark comedy mixed with great satire and some typical Waters-style comedy. Hilariously entertaining from start to finish and Turner does a great job. Remember: wear a seatbelt, be kind rewind and never wear white shoes after Labor Day.

Cheesy fun humor. Give it a go. My sister and I always laugh at the part where she stabs that guy with the chimney poker thing, and his liver or whatever comes out. Good times.

Unabashedly burlesque; a rampant but attentive and smart ridicule of "classifications", conformity, (american) double moral and film conventions (just to mention a couple of things...). It seems like an inebriated Solondz-film on a stormy theatre stage, and it's brilliantly self-controlled in all its mischievous imagination and rabidity. Stunningly funny.

My favorite John Waters movie! Kathleen Turner is perfect as a psychotic June Cleaver.

Great entertaiment. It wallows in moral decay and dares you to enjoy every second of it. Note the delightful courtroom scenes (a recurring motif in Water's films, actually).
