Summary: This mystery takes place in the ancestral home of the MacGrieff family. The Lady MacGrieff is rebuffed in an attempt to get financial help from visiting relative Lady Alicia when the unexpected arrival of Alicia's young daughter Corringa changes Lady MacGrieff's plans. Hoping to pair her son Lord James MacGrief with Corringa, she plots to bring them together. James' sensitive side is shown by his hobby of painting and in his choice of pet — an oversized orangutan bought from a passing circus.

Cliched story gets a facelift due to some stylish direction and cinematography. Anton Diffring is always a reliable heavy, but sadly his distinctive voice was dubbed here.
