Taut and well acted suspense.

Nice heartless little thriller.

Good debut film by Danny Boyle. A simple film but ultimately lacking depth except for a decent look at how civilization (in this case the relationship between 3 housemates) can be corrupted by money.

You are all a bunch of Danny Boyle fanboys! This is ok, but nowhere near "Trainspotting" in terms of quality.

I am a fan of Danny Boyle. Millions is a phenomenal film. I didn't love Shallow Grave though. In general I am usually annoyed by these types of films. The whole finding money brings out the greed and evil in a group of friends usually bothers me. My main problem is that all the main characters are assholes and it's hard to relate to any of them. I can't sympathize with them and their problems because I hate them. It kind of ruins all the drama and tension when you despise everyone in a movie.

Interchangeable with a slew of the same style ov movies in the mid nineties.

Pretty funny at points, with a good cast. Occasionally dull.

"Small" plot with self-indulgent acting (esp. McGreggor). It was probably good on stage but doesn't work well on film.

Tense, exciting and unpredictable. Good times.

Very competent early work, with some of Boyle's themes obviously present. Really good acting. Takes quite unlikeable characters and draws you into them because of the odd relationship dynamic between them all. Eccleston's turn is really well done.

Interesting character study in which the veneer of civility is totally destroyed at the first hint of temptation. Style wins out over substance as the characters are never humanized before they're demonized.

Boyle's biggest problem seems to be the third act. Never was that more apparent than in this dark thriller about friendship, greed and betrayal. Kinda remade as the - slightly better - A Simple Plan.
