gutierrez had high ambitions with this title, completely unfounded, but high ambitions nonetheless. the concept is a bit on the iffy side, and it plays out like over funded b-movie offal. it's badly written, stupid in the purest sense of the word, and not worth even the poorest man's time. i have to admit, though, that if the series were ever picked up and continued, i'd probably watch the rest.

Not too bad for a made-for-cable movie, but I doubt I'll ever watch it again.

It was interesting to see a full frontal nude female swimming inside of water tank, but that's about it. --- I review the movie. The mermaid was actually only partly nude; the lower part was fish tail. The start of the movie was not interesting, neither the middle part. I liked the connection between she creature and leading female. The end was disaster.
