It's probably been too long since I've seen this to rate it fairly. Going on very hazy memory, this is a pretty cheesy and unoriginal movie. But maybe I need to revisit it.

They almost had it right in the first half, but then it turned into goofy cartoon violence and other idiocy. The film's direction seemed to be all over the place, and some of the things that happened (silly gorillas, for example) just really dumbed things down. Still, the first half was really okay.
