Summary: The eerie and deserted town of Silent Hill draws a young mother desperate to find a cure for her only child's illness. Unable to accept the doctor's diagnosis that her daughter should be permanently institutionalized for psychiatric care, Rose (Mitchell) flees with her child, heading for the abandoned town in search of answers -- and ignoring the protests of her husband. Pretty spooky at parts, but really awkward moments like when characters show up out of nowhere. A girl gets here skin torn off which is pretty dope.

Definitely a fan service since they basically recaptured the game(which is much much better). Pyramid Head is still creepy as fuck tho, even on film.

The expository finale ruins any ambiguity that this game--er, movie--could have had. The original Silent Hill for the PSX was influenced by things like Jacob's Ladder and Eraserhead, while Silent Hill 2 contains references to Blue Velvet. Just watch those and play the games instead.

If they'd left out the Sean Bean subplot it would have been serviceable. A few creepy moments after the solid first 20 minutes but as it stands a complete mess.

One word to sum this film up would simply be 'messy'. Visually it looks great and some scenes are just stunning, but its the storyline and how difficult it is to follow that makes it a struggle to enjoy. I can see why some really like it, but for me I like to know exactly whats going on instead of struggling to make sense of it all. The final scenes are very graphic and even hard to watch, but at the same time pretty impressive. Overall definitley an intriguing film but one just not for me.
