Summary: A young boy watches his parents killed by a thief in a Santa suit. He spends his youth in an orphanage, staying quietly to his self, but his mind is further bent by an ironhanded Mother Superior. He finally gets a job at a local store, where he finally snaps when he is required to wear a Santa suit, and goes on a killing spree that leads him slowly back to the orphanage. (imdb)

This movie epitomizez everything I hate about the 80's slasher movies: ridiculous writing and criminally bad acting. It does however also epitomize everything I love about the 80's slasher movies: ridiculous writing and criminally bad acting. But let's get real here, how can you give anything lower than 35 to a movie that has Santa Claus as a villian? It gets 10 point each for the use of the words "naughty" and "punish" as badass catch frases and 15 for chopping the head of a snow man.

Shamesless and delightful exploitation slasher, brimming with exeptionally hammy acting, qoutable lines delivered badly and some sloppy 80ies styled nudity. Fun for the whole family, by which I mean your drunken friends.

More tragedy than horror film. It has to make you feel a little bit bad for William despite the poor acting and hilariously bad scriptwriting. (PUNISH!)

Hilarious, camp, oh so 80's. I can understand why other people hated it but I'm a sucker for terrible 80's slasher films.

Pretty basic 80s slasher movie, that gets some bonus points for its how-to-traumatize-a-boy-enough-to-make-him-a-crazy-killer plot.

By no means a good film, but it does get credit for actually trying to create a tragic villian out of its tormented protagonist (one seriously unfortunate boy, that). All is lost with his mind, however, as he, dressed in a santa suit, goes on an axe wielding rampage with such vocabulary as "Punish!" and "Naughty!". It does have moments, but at the end of the day, you just need to get through this and then immediatly afterwards put on part 2.

I really enjoy this campy, semi-classic slasher. Of course, it's not as legitimately good as, say, 'Halloween', 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre' or 'Scream' but, knowing their undistinguished subgenre well, it's hard not to appreciate how much it gets right: fun kills, cheese en-masse, t&a, all the hallmarks are here and, it has to be said, as such - regardless of the objective quality - this is not only a guilty pleasure of mine, but one I would highlight as an epitome of slasher pics. PUNISH!!

"This was obviously not new territory for the slasher genre, mind you, but Silent Night, Deadly Night brought the idea to new levels of cold sleaziness." - Eric Henderson

Hadn't seen this one in about 20 years. Probably a good reason for that. Some nice kill scenes, but dumb slasher movies from the bad guy's POV don't really work, and the director really likes attempted rape scenes.

Cheap, cheesy, and tasteless. But how can you hate a movie that has strangulation by Christmas lights, a psycho Santa who gives a box cutter to a good little girl (literally, its a gift), and a beheading by sledding? This is my kind of cheap, cheesy, and tasteless.
