After about the third or fourth time, we get it. But still, the paintings look great, the sound effects are menacing, and I love what Lynch once said about wanting to see his paintings move after a wind blew one of his. And that's what films are.

Can't really rate this as a film, though it does appear to represent Lynch's metamorphosis from being a painter to being a filmmaker.

Though the repetition can get a tad boring, it's interesting to see where Lynch started, and while I won't pretend to understand exactly what he was trying to say, I saw a good review somewhere that shed a little light on what it could mean. The rather simple animation and the siren work together well to create something bizarre that almost makes you forget that you're watching six figures getting sick six times.

This is more like a 40 second film repeated six times. More like a slideshow of drawings than a film, this minor work has a nice odd charm to it. Watching it, I felt like I was witnessing the birth of the "David Lynch weirdness". Quite a uniquely strange mind, and this is how it all started.

One of those productions, which are supposed to be marvellous and praised by everyone, but in your mind you're really thinking "What the f*ck was that?!".
So... yeah, boring. I wanted to skip the half, and it's only four minutes long. Speaks for itself. In addition, the sound's pretty annoying.

To call this a short film is stretching the definition a little bit. This is David Lynch's first film project. Originally meant to be an art project, Lynch wanted his painting to "move", he has six figures almost etch-a-sketch'ed into the painting, their stomachs fill up and they vomit down the screen. I loved it. I liked how creepy the whole thing looked and I especially liked how the police siren plays in the background. I'm pretty sure Silent Hill stole the idea of the siren from this film.

The main idea of "Six Figures Getting Sick" aka "Six Men Getting Sick (Six Times)" is evident from the title. It is indeed a film where six figures (six men) produce mindblowingly interesting vomit in an unusual yet complex and profound way (heads on fire etc.). I must admit that it was hilarious at first and that that siren is an interesting touch as well, but I have no idea why Lynch thought six men vomiting six times would make a good film (maybe he didn't think so either).

Lynch's first film project, played in repetition, was used as part of a multi-media art exhibit rather than being intended as an actual short movie. As with his later forays into experimental short film, it is still quite interesting in and of itself.

Well, moving paintings aren't such rare stuff, at least not in modern art museums. This one is a rather pointless one, but still hauntingly bizzare. I highly reccomend watching it in a loop for 4-hours straight to really get the full experience.
