Otto Preminger's experimental 60s satire has some great moments of ingenuity: a Keystone Kops homage, an acid trip sequence, a musical number about garbage, and sung end credits. There are some definite lulls (Groucho Marx, old and tired, is a letdown), and the ending is a typical late-60s free-for-all, but the sheer novelty of the film would be sufficient to justify a viewing; that it proves to be a generally fun and likable enterprise might justify multiple watchings. I recommend it.

Often touted as one of the worst movies ever made. It's hardly that. The problem is people look at the cast and assume it's a comedy when it's not. It's a social drama conceived by guys who were just strung out on acid. Definitely worth a look. Just don't expect to be laughing your ass off.

Gloriously weird. Seems like it would have been too square for the hippies and too "hippie-ish" for the rest of the country. A gloriously weird mess.

Just your average film featuring an incarcerated Gleason having a revelatory acid trip, Channing performing an awkward musical number accompanied by marauding hippies, hallucinations of the Green Bay Packers playing football naked and culminating with an elderly Groucho Marx adrift on a sailboat smoking a pumpkin-flavored joint. Right before the closing credits are sung by Harry Nilsson. Genuine lunacy, a crazy quilt crafted by a over-caffeinated charm of ADD-afflicted hummingbirds.
