Summary: Famous scientists around the world have mysteriously disappeared, and reporter Polly Perkins (Paltrow) along with ace aviator Sky Captain (Law) are on the investigation. Risking their lives as they travel to exotic places around the world, can the fearless duo stop Dr. Totenkopf, the evil mastermind behind a plot to destroy the earth? I've always had trouble explaining to people the concept of chemistry. But at least this film has given me an example to explain the ABSENCE of it.

They ripped off a cartoon! Talk about originality! Anyway, it's alright, entertaining, mindless, roller coaster action movie.

I'm still not sure who the villian was or if there was infact a point to this film! The main character does fly around in an old World War Two plane that had some gadgets taken from a James Bond movie taped onto the cockpit to make an overall amazingly easy sleepy time while watching the 'Action' scenes! "O no!" "Giant Robots attacking! " "We need the Sky Captain!" Sky Captain then uses grappling hook to wrap robot's leg.... Star Wars didn't do that in Empire Strikes Back.

Underripe and poorly acted (in this case, clearly the director's fault). The gee-whiz charm makes me want to root for it, but it just doesn't meet me halfway.
