I liked the Ernest television series as a kid, but this reeks of the crappy, cheap, straight-to-video hack job that it is. There is an insipid "story" about a black player and his family, all of it ban ineffective ploy to garner sympathy. Meanwhile, the entertainment comes in the form of awkward Ernest jumping really high. That's it. There's no real humor here, just a desperate attempt to stretch the runtime with poorly delivered lines and rote, meaningless scenes. Utter garbage.
