Though notable for shunning what was then a temptation to flaunt limited -- and limiting -- portrayal of ethnic minorities, Slightly Daffy portrays Native Americans more in the mould of comic villains that otherwise function as the tunes' idea of villainy. Unfortunately, besides a couple of gags relative to the Indians side of the battle, Freleng largely confuses energy with wit. Consequently, Slightly Daffy is preciously short on laughs.
