This movie is mostly car chases and silly scenes. Most of the car chases are fun and it is only near the end of the movie that they start to get old. If you are looking for something mindless then you might enjoy this one.

Dopey fun, yes. But pretty well made dopey fun, with some quality car chases and a scenery-devouring Jackie Gleason. My second favorite wildly over the top comedic performance ever (Ted Knight in "Caddyshack" is still where it's at).

Yeah, it's dumb as dirt, but it's also entertaining as all hell and has some of the best car stunts on film. Reynolds rode the wave of charisma he earned in this film for almost 20 years.
