Summary: Dr. Balasubramaniam (Mohanlal), after his wife Rukmini's (Urvashi) death, devotes his life for raising son Raju Vishwam (Anu Anand), disregarding even his best friend Mani Sankar Iyer's (Nedumudi Venu) sister & coworker Sreelakshmi's (Parvathi) feelings towards him. When Raju goes to college, Balasubramaniam rejoices, but his joys are cut short when Raju dies in a hazing incident in college at the hands of his seniors.
