Demons interfere with a man's cooking. Ooooooooooooooookay. Call me a spoiled 21st-century movie buff, but I don't think this is very clever or funny. I appreciate that Melies was one of the O.G. pioneering filmmakers, but I'd rather watch the Sockbaby films again before this or, indeed, most of his other films. STEP DRINK!

Clever set-piece by Méliès that would subsequently be redone to death a million times throughout the history of comedic cinema.

I found this to be surprisingly funny.

Melies is the master of trick cuts and here they're front and center. Many of them are nearly seamless. Very impressive and very entertaining.
