Soul Men is the most disappointing tribute to black pop music since the OutKast movie Idlewild.

What a coincidence that Bernie Mac and Isaac Hayes should work together then die months later a day apart. Both will be sadly missed as they were a major loss to entertainment. This film is worth a watch however with some classic moments.

This soul song starts off on a funny note, but soon hits predictability bottom and falters. Songs were catchy though. I couldn't help but wonder if Malcolm D. Lee was anything like his cousin, seeing the fact that the only White with any significant role in the movie was, of all the people, Adam Herschman (yes, the dorky yellow-shirted guy from the Alltel ads) in an i've-never-been-laid role.
