The always good Chris Bauer did an excellent job of carrying this one, and the production quality was pretty high. The basic story has been done to death though. It added a little here and there, sure, and it has something to say but it's still A Tell-Tale Heart. Once you figure that out, you sleepwalk your way through it and call every curve ball and slider they throw before they throw it.

brad anderson is not a person i think of as a director of horror, but he does weave a good plot, this is a poor example though. he does, however make a great portryal of the symptoms of social anxiety, even though most must think such a thing is trivial. those who have not experienced it would see this as a terribly underwhelming film, those who have, would only remember more meaningful fears.

So-so addition to the Masters of Horror series. The ending scenes are fairly horrifying, especially when you find out what the sound is.

Thriller, yes. Horror, no. Well, except for the maggots. A modern take on the Tell-tale Heart...with more maggots.

Although I didn't think it was very good, it was short and very memorable.
