Summary: This short played on one of the Support New York City telethons that took place shortly after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. New Yorkers talk to each other on cell phones
Sounds from a Town I Love plays like an act of sabotage. Produced as a contribution to a telethon drummed up in support of a city quickly attempting to recover from a terrorist attack, Woody Allen's idea is to showcase an equal mixture of obnoxiousness and bad comedy. He proclaims that he loves the place but doesn't give us a tangible reason why.
Three minutes that consist of NY-ers speaking on their cell phones. Some lines are good, some are mediocre, some are indifferent. Woody's love letter to NY is strictly his case and not ours. At the end of the film, Allen informs us "I love this town". Well, I don't care. At least this was filmed for a 9/11 telethon.
curto, direto. o formato de um curta não combina tanto com a verborragia do woody allen, mas ele conseguiu fazer algo que, em três minutos, FOSSE a nova york que ele tanto ama e que a todo momento referenciasse aos seus filmes.
