lots of homo eroticism and the songs aren't memorable, but watch this on blu ray and just get dazzled by the picture and the colour. looks like edible candy.

If you, like me, are not a big fan of musicals, there is a very slim chance you will start liking them after seeing this one. More likely you will be hesitant to watch any more musicals in the future. It is very long, boring, the characters are unpleasant to watch, and musical numbers are simply uninteresting. Good to see anti-racism message in musical from these times, but it is hardly worth spending two and a half hours with.

I hate R&H with a flaming passion succeeded only by Andrew Lloyd Weber. And Joshua Logan is the most overrated musical film director of all time.
