I can't help loving South Park, and I admit this is entertaining and sometimes funny, but there was something genuine in the first seasons that is lost on many of the later episodes, such as this one. I do verily enjoy the sort of nonsense humor that Parker-Stone borrow from Monty Python, but episodes like this are marked by over-the-topness that's a bit redundant and doesn't serve the funniness.

Not as taut or hilarious as Bigger, Longer, and Uncut, Imaginationland definitely runs on cleverness and charm to sustain it through its 70+ minute runtime. Much like the recent South Park formula, many jokes are run into the ground until they're a beaten dead horse, but some of the cooler stuff like a Man-Bear-Pig appearance, the return of the Woodland Critters, and Butters' disturbed imagination are sure to make your sides hurt.

Crude, rude, and ridiculous, and also very funny. While it may not quite compete with South Park's finest ever moments, "Imaginationland" is laced with just enough satirical edge and intelligent commentry to make it enjoyable on more than one level.

Probably the most epic South Park storyline, and it surprisingly works better than a drawn-out cartoon TV show story should.

Is this really a movie? It was excellent in parts to be sure, but I'm dubious about its inclusion here. What the heck -- I've seen it, I'll rate it.

I'm surprised. SP has been going downhill since the seasons hit the double digits, but this is a return to form - at least in amount of laughs.

The moral, social and political satires are brilliantly understated and profound. Yes. Profound. As if you sucked all the negativity off of Marquis de Sade's ideology. No, not like that.

Imaginationland makes with the funny fast and hard only to drop a big old shit all over it. "If enough people believe something, doesn't that make it sort of true?" In addition to being the lamest form of "and the moral of the story is..." didacticism, it's absurd, demonstrably false, it's argumentum ad populum, baby's first logical fallacy. Either I'm missing a layer of insincerity or cynicism (almost unthinkable for South Park nowadays) or Matt and Trey are bone stick stone stupid.

A disappointment. The fantasysploitation idea is a fine starting point and seeing unrelated, well-known characters interact is amusing enough but this is just three episodes of South Park reiterating two weak jokes about imagination and sucking balls. So what seemed promising initially ends up lacking the former and doing the latter, unfortunately. Skip it, snarf.

It may lack the sharp satirical edge usually present in the latter seasons of the series, but it offers some of the funniest and most quotable moments in a long while.

You just rest, Kyle. Look what I made for you. A sundae. It has hot fudge and whipped cream and a cherry. But...I feel like something is missing, don't you, Kyle? What else belongs on a sundae besides hot fudge and whipped cream? Hmm...argh...hot fudge, whipped cream, what else belongs on a sundae, Kyle? Tsk, what else goes on a sundae besides hot fudge, whipped cream, and...oh, that's right! My balls.
