I have been told this film has gotten bad reviews. I didn't need to be told that film reviewers are for the most part idiots. Spread is a mature film, it has something to say, Ashton Kutcher finally manages to convince as a serious actor and even though it's rocky during the third act where it seems to have turned into a completely different film, I'm relatively certain it's done with intent and the end makes up for it somewhat. Not perfect, but very good.

Very good. Pretty Woman for the 2K era. This isn't another idealization of the hip LA style, but a pretty deep love story. Kutcher is pretty decent as the manipulative gigolo. The movie starts out all fun and light but changes gears midway and the ending is very powerful. Highly recommended.

It takes quite some time to get over Kutscher NOT being "Kelso" that by the time you've adjusted, this movie has shifted from an enjoyable sleaze-fest to a rather tedious romance. That said, I've never seen a movie come so close to redemption by a closing shot/end credit sequence.

WTF the frog!?

Well, at least there is no happy ending, but an interesting frog ending instead of a prince kissing the princess...

Ashton Kutcher actually acting. Wow. Didn't see that one coming. Solid first half, horrible second half in which one of the most boring romances this year takes center stage. One awesome moment though: The ending, where the camera lingers for about three or four minutes on a frog having swallowed a mouse! Inspired stuff.

In which a con man meets a con woman and falls in love. I could live without it.

Didn't read any reviews before watching, thought this was gonna be a pretty generic film but it did surprise. Typical setup, but not the ending I expected, Kutcher isn't so bad at what he does, but this movie screamed him at the beginning. Not exactly the BS fairy tale we are usually told, but that's why I liked it more.
