La Cava seamlessly meshes the different styles and personalities of this dream cast in this example of Hollywood filmmaking at its best. The film blends comedy with pathos.

Fun and funny, with some poignant touches to reflect the turmoil of the era when it was made. The verbal sparring is certainly the high point, along with a few scenes towards the end.

Looks and sounds a little dated but this is still interesting with a great cast and unexpected ending.

Fuck "All About Eve". This movie is the real deal.

One of those favorites from late night TV, with Katherine Hepburn in a breakthrough role as a hoity-toity would-be actress living with a gaggle of up-and-comers who comes through in the end, not only as an actress but as a person. "The cala lilies are in bloom again..."

A little slow at times, but the last twenty minutes or so packs an incredible punch.

Melodramatic, sharply comedic, always fascinating slice of stagey life from a Broadway hit; the performances alone make it worth preserving.

A must-see for anyone that loves old movies. Hepburn and Rogers are excellent, and it's tremendous fun to see Eve Arden and Lucille Ball at the beginning of their careers. This is the movie where Hepburn delivers the speech I first heard delivered by Bugs Bunny--"the calla lilies are in bloom again".
