A really keen and interesting movie could have been made about the subject of adult illiteracy. Despite the Grade-A talent involved, this isn't it. Sadly, this is another example of how dull De Niro can be when he doesn't get to play a psycho

This is a very underrated film. It's such a joy to watch, and De Niro and Jane Fonda are tremendous. De Niro's range knows no bounds. I love films like this; ones that just make you feel good inside, and you can smile all the way through.
