Breaks the mold from the previous Star Treks and may alienate many die-hard fans. Fun and "hip" for a new generation of Trekkies.

Not a follower of the series at all, but this movie was done very well. surprisingly good acting.

My favorite movie since The Matrix. I loved everything about it. I can't think of anyone else besides JJ Abrams who could have done a better job with Star Trek.

Abrams is definetely the new Spielberg.

This movie has chemistry in the casting, acting, filming. It's excellent.

Great movie, even if you're not a Trekkie!

My first contact with the Star Trek franchise and I loved it. Sure there were some "shoot down a helicopter with an arrow" moments, but overall it was great fun.

Altough I'm not a Star Trek fan, I liked the style and story of the film. Ofcourse the outerspace action is wurth an extra amount of points.

A solid popcorn flick to see in theaters or on blu-ray. I'm hoping to someday play the lens-flair drinking game that this was made for.

From a non-Trekkie perspective it seemed like they went too far in the other direction - way too flashy and self-aware. Abrams usually hits the nail on the head in regard to special effects and gimmickry, but every character he writes is an Aaron Sorkin/Joss Whedon zing-machine.

It's a great balance between the old stories and a fresh new take, made all the more awesome by a genuine sense of connectivity between the new crew, each of which is a fully-realised member of the new cast. The plot is a little shaky, and perhaps it would have been better as a straight reboot, without trying to connect it with the original series, but all in all there's a lot to love here.

Zoe Saldana is hot, the original Spock has a cameo, and Simon Pegg is funny. Those are the only good things I can say. The story is 1: Unbelievable. and 2: Doesn't match up with Star Trek history. The worst errors are the ages of the children. 1: Kirk should get a car for graduation, a senior officer gets an Enterprise! 2: Why did anyone give these college student actors lead in a major motion picture? The film looked like a student's thesis project and played about that well.

Bad physics (even by star trek standards) hurt some scenes, over all a good re-telling of the story.
