You've decided to remember Star Wars: The Clone Wars for later. You can see all your remembered films here.
Summary: The Clone Wars are raging between the Separatists and the Galactic Republic. When Jabba the Hutt's son is taken by a group of renegades, two Jedi are summoned to investigate.
Many people thought it was bad for the theaters but it was just to start the new franchise series on TV and the best way of getting people to know about it is to put it in the theater.
Boring, forgettable, transparently episodic, as if it were made to be broken up into pieces and aired on TV. They try to cram as many lines from the films as they can, and everything else is just going through the motions. I won't even go into the inconsistent, but still annoying, characterization of Anakin Skywalker. There's no reason this particular story should have been given the feature treatment. Having seen some of the show, they can do better than that.
horrible, absolutely horrible... and that's coming from a life-long Star Wars fan.... *spoilers*!!!!!!! (would've made sense to kill Anakin's apprentice... that way they'd explain why she never appeared in the movies and show another step that led Anakin to the dark side... but NOOO, the kids would be sad....)
Not as good as the mini-series. Introducing characters was a stupid idea, and the story was lame as shit. But, it is Star Wars, and sometimes you just can't get enough of it.
The Star Wars I knew and loved is dead, and this shit has taken it's place. I hated the prequels but at least the third one had some moments to make you think Lucas was trying to come to his senses. Then this crap comes out and we are given a 100 minute toy commercial a horrible plot. In fact, if you watched your kid play with Star Wars toys you'd probably be more entertained than watching this garbage.
Love the animation and the fact that its star wars. Only prob is the script, as some of the lines are "eh", but its geared to a younger audience so its acceptable.
A broken heart speaks here. it reminded me of going to a Bob Dylan concert: it killed idols. Seriously, I knew it wouldn't be a huge success, but I thought as a fan that I should see it. Well you shouldn't clearly. From the introduction on it's very clear the whole thing is heading in the wrong direction. And the music doesn't have anything to do with Star Wars. 20 points for because I saw lightsabers, Yoda and a bunch of nicely animated action scenes.
Decent enough, full of action and interesting combination of different Star Wars characters. The one thing the early movies have succeeded in doing is to raise questions about what stripped R2D2 of his amazing-ness.
I'm a big Star Wars fan but I wasn't sure if I should see this one in the theatre. Overall I did enjoy the movie. The movie does have its flaws. Some of the action scenes go on to long and are repetitive. But there are also some fun moments and the women characters get to do more in this movie. I would recommend this to Star Wars fans only.
