What I learned from this movie: Canadian national health care allowed the man with the weakest DNA in the country to father 533 children who, by the looks of all of them, ended up only inheriting their mothers' physical traits. Thanks Obama.

The kind of film you never want to end. Starbuck is full to the brim of heart, humor and charm. I would recommend this to absolutely anyone. Huard is brilliant.

An exquisitely funny, tender, joyous and extremely enjoyable film. Patrick Huard is a charismatic lead, the script inspired, the supporting cast very good and the direction balanced.

Weak sit-com start, and the group hug at the end was over the top, but it was funny and touching for most of the rest. Subtitles, Canada, who'd've thunk. Quebec trying to assert itself I suppose.

The story of a 40+ year old millennial. Has some good ha-ha's and some serious moments to balance things out well.

I don't like these kinds of Sundance-ish movies that just find a unique idea and do not think even for a second on the cinematic style. And is it a rule for these kinds of films to make sure the protagonist is wearing mustard and red?

Both the 1st & 2nd act of Starbuck meander through setting-up Wozniak's less-than-perfect lifestyle & him meeting some of his progeny. Following the least compelling cinematic trial, the film picks up to deliver a surprisingly satisfying conclusion. I spent the 1st half of the film wandering whether there was a problem with my sound as some of the dialogue seemed muffled & the French sounded off; I eventually realised the film was Quebecoise. The acting is decent, but the film is a mixed bag.

Even better than the trailer led me to believe I'd like. I hope Judd Apatow, doesn't remake this movie. I like Judd, but his style of humor would probably ruin this movie. I recommend. The subtitling becomes a non-issue after 5 mins, when your mind adjusts.

This was a really well done, heartwarming film. I enjoyed this a lot.

A beautiful idea of a film, somewhat compromised by a main character I never quite liked and an inconsistent tone that I wish wasn't there. I may have liked this more if it took the material more seriously.

Definitely one of the finer French-Canadian films...
