problems with pacing, but other than that a solid stargate outing that has a scope wider than the series and looks higher budget as well. this could have definitely used a script and story work over, but the premise isn't THAT bad.
This is how you make a Stargate movie, not that ark of truth crap. It would even be better without Claudia Black, she is annoying as hell. Must see if you are a Stargate fan.
Cheap, tacky, poorly performed and cliche. I'm sure hardened SG-1 fans will love it, but lets face it SG-1 went on for about seven seasons too many, and the last thing anyone needed was this piece of crap. Also Teal'c's hair and wardrobe is hilarious in this! He genuinely looks like he is putting in a shift as a dancer in a gay club.
I'm a big fan of the original movie. The new cast for the series I was not that thrilled. Stargate: Continuum did not awake much of my attention either though I have seen a plenty of episodes of the the very first Stargate series.
Painful at times and ridiculous at others, this one has little to offer even diehard SG-1 fans. Despite the alternate universe premise, we saw even less fan service than the Season 8 finale or Season 9's "Ripple Effect." Where were Kinsey, Martouf, Jacob, Janet, Weir, McKay, and Maybourne? All we got were some quick cameos of the system lords, and then it turned into the "Baal and Qetesh variety hour." I think everyone was expecting a lot better.
Liked it. Liked it a lot. Better than the ark of truth. Again, it's made in the very special Stargate SG-1 style we all love, and they've done this much better than in the ark of.. O'neill with his typical humour, Ba'al in his typical role, a new, refreshing story and an unpredictable plotline. Too bad some other charaters didn't appear in the film, but they can't get everyone in it offcourse. Only the end is in my oinion a bit cheap and quikckly solved.
