The best drama rips your heart out, and by the end mine was thoroughly shredded. The plot is thrilling and engaging, but its the characters that dragged me in, growing on me as they doggedly pursue the fascinating mystery before them. Simms holds this together, walking the viewer through a life coming together and falling apart, but the entire cast, Nighy, McAvoy, Morrissey, and Macdonald in particular, is wonderful. This is the kind of story that television was meant to tell.

Tense taught and a metric ton of great acting by great actors. It's often a fiver in retailers which is an absolute steal.

It's an interesting thriller, and Simms, Nighy and Macdonald do well in their roles, but ultimately it feels as though the story has been stretched over slightly too big a frame; the result is an overlong drama that, sadly, isn't as thrilling as you might hope.

I was pissed because part 6 was labeled 5 and 5 was 6 so I missed a whole hour of making sense and maybe the score would have been higher. Quite enjoyable accent on Macdonald.

To call this a thriller would be like calling Waterboy a comedy. The ensemble cast are uninteresting and unlikeable. The drama usually involves someone saying something unintelligble (I had to turn subtitles on) and after what seemed like 11 hours of this, the reveal is cliched and flat. Excellent use of the word "arse" though.

A very entertaining political mystery--a la *All the President's Men* and *JFK*. One of the few films/series that I liked a lot despite feeling lukewarm about the leads (Simm and MacDonald).

This piece of work is a good example for British Tv productions being better than the Americans. They have exceptionally good actors and the plot is thought- and suspenseful. Additionally they do not tend to stretch a series more than it's needed.
