Summary: Ralph Wolf tries to forcibly remove Sam Sheepdog in order to gain access to a flock of sheep. Without success, he uses a lasso, cannon, a string of firecrackers, and a giant rubber band. (imdb)
One idea here shows up much later in Maurice Pialat's _Police_: the cops and criminals, at war all day, go to the same bars and party together, just like Mr. Wolf and Mr. Sheep-Dog are neighbors and perfectly congenial during off-hours. Unfortunately, _Police_ is every bit as boring as this film is. Pialat should have imitated the *good* American films like Truffaut did
As much as I love a stoic, silent protagonist, these skits were generally boring. Sam Sheepdog is never in any danger, neither of the two main characters speaks, and the ruses seem like recycled ideas from earlier cartoons. One of the weaker Looney Tunes shorts.
