Childhood favorite of mine. Charming, silly, fun.

Zany comedy, Marx brothers style.

While not as funny as the duo's other popular film 'See No Evil, Hear No Evil' this was still a pretty funny comedy film with Wilder and Pryor still as a stand-out comedy duo. The storyline was a little dull and not a lot went on, but there were some good funny moments that lightened the mood. Overall a good film with some good laughs, but not much more.

Decent comedy that works because of the two leads.

Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor will sadly never go down as one of the great comic teams of all-time, despite always being hilarious when paired together.

I'm sure there are people ot there who were like, "Oh, boy. I wish Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor could have starred in every comedy in the 70's and 80's!" To those people, I say...slow down. They're good, but not that good.

Not very funny; Pryor and Wilder get in each other's way and neither can fully blossom. And anyway, the comedy pretty much disappears for the final 30-40 minutes of it. Also, the plot is loaded with implausibilities, which might be forgiveable if it was funnier.

Stir Crazy is an enjoyable comedy with some memorable performances by Wilder and Pryor which makes for some particuarly good moments. The setting may be a little stereotypical and the plotline may have a few inconsistancies and quickly flow over a couple of areas without much relativity, but the attitudes and contrasts between the prison personalities work to excellent effect.
