Summary: A gang of bank robbers with a suitcase full of money go to the desert to hide out. After burying the loot, they find their way to a surreal town full of cowboys who drink an awful lot of coffee. The townspeople are hostile to the outsiders at first, but seem to accept them once they've killed a couple of people. After a while, a mysterious man named Dade arrives, who seems to have unpleasant business to settle with the robbers. A free-for-all shoot-em-up ensues. (imdb)

Nothing's really that bad, or even that bland, but not really a good movie. Sort of meandering and forgettable, I guess. One of those couch surfer movies that you wind up glued to on a late night, but you never mention in conversation. Oh, good cast. Also, the least deserved R rating ever.

An odd little modern western that's barely coherent and seems to be attempting some form of broad comedy, quite unsuccessfully one might add. The iconic faces of Courtney Love, Elvis Costello, Dennis Hopper, Jim Jarmusch, Joe Strummer, Grace Jones and others do appear, but even they don't add much spice to the generally boring display of costumed rejects randomly hollering and shooting at each other.

A classic spaghetti-style western set in the 1980s, with Joe Strummer, a young (and very annoying) Courtney Love, The Pogues, Elvis Costello, Dennis Hopper and Jim Jarmusch, and directed by Alex Cox of Repo Man fame. Everyone including the script writer is obviously drunk, and I'm not entirely sure they know if they're making a straight Western or a parody of one, but lots of fun. You know you want to see Shane MacGowan as a caffeine-addicted gunslinger dressed like Steve Martin in Three Amigos.

Spaghetti Westerns, Punk, and the eccentric style of Alex Cox tossed into a blender. It doesn't have a whole lot of continuity, but that would likely be a disservice to the film's tone. It's got great cinematography that lends to some brilliant moments of twisted and beautiful splendor.

Eccentric film, even for Alex Cox! Sy Richardson plays Jules Winfield 7 years before Sam Jackson would in 'Pulp Fiction'.

Very stylish, and the cast is awfully special, but I felt like I was missing something.
