as silly as strangers with candy is its still kind of funny :)

Not as funny and more uncomfortable than its television predecessor, though the quality of actors they got to sign on is very impressive.

The series was pretty good, but this was really lame in comparison.

The series is worth a 100, check it out.

Strangers with Candy (2005) is a prequel to the 1999-2000 Comedy Central series of the same name. The primary actors are all the same, but a few of the supporting cast has changed.

I loved the series. This. . . fell very short. Compared to the show I want to give it a ten, but viewing it on its own terms, I guess it was okay.

Only watched it for Colbert, who has a few moments, otherwise this is lacking in humour and devoid of fun.

Based on the classic comedy central show, the big screen version of Jeri Blank's adventure is pretty funny. It however does not capture the magic of the tv show.

Who else would see this but fans of the original show? No one. So why did they think it was a good idea to recycle old jokes? I don't know. The film has its moments, a couple of them very funny, but they're few and far between. Where's the overly dramatic music, too? This just wasn't fun or clever and there's not enough Colbert, Dinello, or Meat Man to save it.

Fans of the tv show will enjoy it, the rest will most likely be alienated. I'm a fan, so I laughed quite a bit.

I loved the TV show, but the movie was disappointing. There is some good stuff to see though.

If you liked the series at all, you'll love this movie. It's all of the ridiculous hilarity, but with swearing and brief nudity. The characters are hilarious, but it may be an acquired taste. If you've ever watched the show, don't be afraid to check this one out.

Horrible, unfunny chore of a film that makes you hate everyone involved.

Although I never really followed the show, I tried to give the movie a shot. I didn't laugh out loud once - the humor is really forced and uninteresting.

1st half is hilarious. 2nd half isn't funny at all.

The television series is truly the greatest of all time - hilarious, bizarre, surreal, weirdly relatable and totally addictive (probably seen every episode over a hundred times) - but the film adaptation feels generic and watered down and the rhythm is off, repeating the same one liners from the series but in less interesting contexts (plus no wonderfully melodramatic keyboard score like in the series!).

I love the TV show, and like many of the more black huomoured shows, the adaptation to big screen movie isn't a great success.. There are a few laughs to be found, but for far more, check out the series on DVD. Toe knee :-)

Often unfunny (or at least unsuited to my tastes), but there are some good characters - Colbert is great - but it's...repulsive.

I was disappointed when I figured out this wasn't a behind the scenes look of To Catch a Predator.
