This movie is terrible. The acting is about as good as you would find in a soap opera and the direction isn't much better. There are numerous scenes that just make the movie drag on so it feels like 3 hours instead of 2. I feel bad about saying this about biographies, but the story feels like something I've watched before. Poor guy gets rich, gets married, does a lot of drugs, treats his wife like shit and gets divorced. Nothing special or worth watching.

Lousy actors, really bad soundtrack, way too many cheesy montages and lots of pointless scenes.

A fair interpretation of the life of Stu Ungar if you can overlook the whole cheesy resolution. Good poker sequences and a great performance from Michael Imperioli really make it so I can overlook the cliche "life flashing before your eyes" garbage.

Bad ending, but good movie about legendary card player and great performance by Michael Imperiolli.
