Lots of cheese, but enough of my kind of humor to enjoy watching it every year. Hulk Hogan is surprisingly funny. Hey! I love realistic movies, but they don't have to be realistic if they're funny! My main complaint is that Shelley Duvall and Christopher Lloyd should have been given more screen time, and more funny lines. They're two of my favorite actors.

Sue me, but I thought this film had a number of funny moments. Yes, it's completely ridiculous and frequently nonsensical, but in a comedy, that's not always a bad thing. It has a very silly, goofy feel, and dialogue a few grades higher than most of these kinds of films. Then again, maybe I'm completely misremembering a horrible film that I will detest upon re-watch. Who knows?

While this movie is arguably more famous from the awesome review given to it by The Nostalgic Critic, than anything that it itself did, I do have to give it credit for some amazing laughs. It's obviously my kind of humor, and it doesn't surprise me that I only see 20 green-spectrum reviews out of my top 250. It's a bad movie, there's no getting around it, but it's too damn funny to hate on it. It gets a lowest-end Average from me due to its consistent ability to make me laugh. Cudos, Cappello.

Hogan's over-the-top acting fits very well in the world of wrestling; it does not translate on to the big screen at all. At the very lowest levels, this film could entertain in the same vein of a Troma film, but even those films have an excuse. Save this one for a 10-day blizzard...hopefully the power will go out anyway!
