Summary: Ex-mob boss Christopher Walken is kidnapped by a group of four kids in a haphazard attempt at paying the ransom for another, separate kidnapping. Complexities arise as the group cannot seem to do anything right. (imdb)
Highly underrated movie about a group of rich friends who decide that a kidnapping plan could help solve all there problems. Christopher Walken is excellent as usual in this unique film.
Good acting by everybody in the film. I was especially surprised by Jay Mohr and Denis Leary. There are places where it should have kept a serious tone a little more, but nothing too bad. I wasn't a big fan of the ending and that's what makes this a really good movie and not a great movie.
Who knew an hour and a half of Christoper Walken duck-taped to a chair could be so interesting and entertaining? Despite the hammy acting of some of the supporting cast, especially Johnny Galecki, this is a supremely well-constructed Mobster whodunit.
I really enjoyed this when I first saw it, but then I started noticing all the glaring plot holes and contradictions. Still a good movie, and Christopher Walken is a charm.
Leary seemed as if he just walked on the set 5 minutes before each scene, and Walken did his best Walken impression. These were the good parts. Suicide Kings started out strong with an intriguing concept, but it was difficult to get past the amateur performances and plot devices. The film stopped taking itself seriously a 1/3 of the way through.
Can't pinpoint a movie to compare this to, but there's one out there. A group of snobby 20yrs olds kidnap a mob boss Walken, try to outsmart their kidnappers and avoid paying a ransom. Now I liked it but I think it had potential to be better if some roles has been better casted. I hate Jay Mohr (sorry Jay), and just can't buy into any of his roles. Galecki won me over by the end. Walken is always great, but Leary was an unsung hero in my eyes. His toaster scene won this film some pts.
