A solid film with great acting, but doesn't really deserve the status of a unaging classic. With limited references to the holocaust, which made 'Under the Domim Tree' both more powerful and meaningful, it's much a much simpler story which could be placed almost anytime, anywhere.

One of the more fondly remembered Israeli films of the 1980's.
