Summary: Batman discovers a mysterious teen-aged girl with super-human powers and a connection to Superman. When the girl comes to the attention of Darkseid, the evil overlord of Apokolips, events take a decidedly dangerous turn. (imdb)
Its problems stem from the original comics - invocations of inadequately-explained continuity, gimmicky moves like the army of Doomsdays, and sketchy stuff like overly-sexualized costumes on a teenager. But for all its flaws, it packs a *lot* of incident in there, and the ending battle is just superb.
I'm going with the consensus here: The voice acting and animation were quite good, but Supergirl was annoying. Not the best animated film I've seen, but it wasn't the worst, either.
Off-world adventures are always hard to pull off, and Apokolips -- Darkseid included -- seems especially dull. Although Glau puts in a relatively impressive performance, the script is FAR too expository, and the plot is a bit of a mess. A distinct disappointment.
Revolves around the same back and forth between Superman/Supergirl for every scene. Same crap different pile in other words. Also a little uneven, with a scene dedicated to Supergirl's shopping spree lasting as long as any fight.
Not the best animated DC film; Supergirl is annoying and the 139-minute shopping spree scene (I want to be an Earth girl!) ended whatever fun I'd been having.
Very good animation and voice acting. The story is okay and there are good moments. I personally rather see DC heroes in earth instead other universes.
