I wanted this movie to be a lot better than it was. Generally speaking, Kevin Spacey is great. But even Spacey didn't save this film. I don't want to bash the film all-in-all, it wasn't terrible, but it just wasn't that good. None of the characters resonated with me. None of the action was memorable or fresh - all of the action felt like action scene I had already seen in other, better superhero movies. And the movie was loooong. I felt like the movie should have ended 30 minutes earlier.

Excruciatingly banal. Empty-headed characters move down a check-list of things that are mandated to appear in a Superman movie. Superman is not a completely irredeemable character but the script stays far away from any interesting approaches such as Superman-as-immigrant or Superman-as-Christ.

Better than The Quest for Peace, but that's not saying much. This one has Superman as a creepy stalker. I'm tired of Lex Luthor as the villain. Superman has some other great villains. We've seen Zod can't we see Brainiac?
