I loved the line, "That's twice I've knocked him out... you'd think he'd see me coming by now." I wonder the same thing as jacob1313 does... is Pullman acting manic or hamming it? It's a mystery to me. There were parts that just dragged on way too long, and added nothing. But the film had a decent look, and a decent twist that took it in a different route than just a mystery/whodunnit. Not amazing by any means but a thriller at least worth a watch.

This film is the answer to "What's the most ridiculously over-the-top, cop/killer drama/thriller/suspense?" Not really a good thing but at least it's unique.

For those willing to go along for the ride, this movie plays interestingly with genre conventions and audience expectations. It is well-written and well-acted (by the supporting cast as well as Pullman), and the image composition and sound design display indisputable evidence of the influence of the director's father. A great improvement over her debut effort.

Well, though Jennifer is still a bit unsure on his directing, I liked this story somehow. The end twist spoiled quite a bit otherwise nice story, but in the very end Bill Pullman and Julia Ormond cleared nice. Okay, everybody was too fucked up but still I liked the edge of the plot. Julia Ormond was the best actor and the small girl came pretty good behind.

Surveillance isn't a scary film in the traditional sense. It doesn't have cheap jump-out scares or worthless soundtrack booms for no reason. What it does have is one of the most unsettling scenarios I've seen. After the film finishes I felt as uncomfortable and sick as I did with Straw Dogs. Now, I don't consider it as good as Straw Dogs, but I'll be damned if it didn't make me feel the same way. There are some terrible stock characters which drag the film down but overall it's quite good.

Dosc "dziwny", ale w pelni satysfakcjonujacy thriller. Niezla realizacja, dobre aktorstwo (choc postacie sa mocno przerysowane, ale taki juz urok tego filmu) i mocne zakonczenie. Ogladalo mi sie to chwilami znakomicie, a to przeciez glowny wyznacznik dla oceny ;)

I used to watch a lot of TV back in the nineties, and this film is exactly what you would see as a late night film. Trashy, drawn from lots of influences b-thriller. I am not hating it just because I was sightly amused by the fact that this movie was made in this day and age. Filmmaking doesn't run in Lynch family, it seems.

Just because David Lynch's name appears on the DVD cover as producer doesn't mean the film won't suck big scaly Hydra dick. I've seen better "twist" endings in a Goosebumps book!

A bleak thriller, that was a bit boring all the way through, and it throws everything at you in the last 20 minutes. The acting still manages to keep it simple, which is why I give it a 70instead of a fail. The twist was an odd one that didnt play to the tune of the story, therefore it lacked in that degree. Still a film you can watch and think "What!?!" and then think about it for two or three minutes and then its done

Could be a better film with a decent re-edit (taking out the first sequence under the credits would resolve most of its issues). I also can't tell if Pullman was acting manic or simply hamming it. There are some effective moments, and is an interesting addition to the (OK, kinda) Lynch-ian canon. So it's a shame most of it is too damned forced.
