Summary: A spider escapes from an isolated desert laboratory experimenting in giantism and grows to tremendous size as it wreaks havoc on the local inhabitants.
Quite boring really and not enough of the giant spider. Wasn't really exciting enough, even the end was lacklustre. Has that old 50's sci-fi in a small town in the middle of nowhere, USA that I love though so that saves it a little bit. Average at best.
Much lamer than I remember it being when I saw it on "Creature Features" in elementary school. The FX are pretty damn decent for 1955. However, all the things that are needed to make a movie a real movie -- acting, direction, writing, etc. -- range here from "standard" to "pretty piss-poor".
