barker makes a better tarzan than weissmuller, especially when weissmuller was on the out in the 40's, but the tired idea and poor scripts are still present. the new life given to the tarzan franchise due to replacing the namesakes actor is nullified by the fact that the stories and writing is just as tired and boring as ever.
