Summary: Still a stranger to her own body, a high school student discovers she has a physical advantage when she becomes the object of male violence. (imdb)
If I made a movie about a toothed vag, I'd make it an over-the-top comedy. But this ridiculous, extremely slow, feminist piece of crap is not all that funny, especially after the shock wears off. However, the OB-GYN is hilarious. I just don't think I'm one for the so-bad-it's-good type of movie. It never really works in my opinion.
The writer must have been mentally insane when he wrote the script..! The acting wasn't bad though and it was entertaining to say the least. Disgusting but interesting! :)
Top Badass moment? I guess it has to be Dawn dealing with her "unique selling point". She goes from prissy good girl to proto bad-bitch-from-hell in 90 minutes. A new type of superhero for the 21st Century! 0 cats and 0 decapitations. (It does however, feature examples of something altogether far, far worse than simply having your head cut off.)
puts the audience in a strange place where they begin to engage in a pick-the-rapist game with the script. according to Teeth the best way to sexually assault someone is to be convincingly genuine.
"This could have been an exploitative comedy like Penetration Angst, but whereas that one had a wicked wit, this one, like a rabid feminist, assumes it will get laughs merely by biting off rapist penises. Any questions?"
While "Antichrist" was the ultimate date movie for women, "Teeth" is the ultimate date movie for guys. The main problem with "Teeth" is that it was made 20-30 years too late, as the entire thing has an undeniably 80s sleazy exploitation (vaginasploitation?) feel to it. You'll more than likely laugh the whole through but most guys will cringe at the penis severings.
The concept of the movie is definitely something that was workable, and the idea of female empowerment is a good one. Unfortunately, the satire on purity pretty much dissolves toward the end of the movie and the plot seemed divided as to what the moral should be.
