At once both enthralling and exhausting. It's cinema bordering on its most energetic and anarchic. It can be hard to follow what is going on at times, but becoming lost in it is part of the fun and even when lost I still felt the full, thrilling effect of it. As far as its view of politics is concerned it feels like a desperate cry, acknowledging that all political systems are deeply flawed, glaring at those flaws and wishing more could be done than just to sit here observing them.
I really wish I could have loved it. The political commentary is very astute, full of well crafted dialogue and a mix of humour and urgency. There's a lot of creativity too, in the sound design, the non linear structure, the camerawork. Basically, there's lot to appreciate in the film. When it comes to actually watching it, though, those elements don't come together well, making the film feel like a mess. It's hard to sort out the characters and their motivations and many parts feel tedious.
