Summary: The members of the Maruthempally family believe that the male members of the family have the curse of insanity upon them. After the latest in the string of mad men, Sridharan (Babu Nampoothiri), dies, all eyes turn to the next eldest male in the family, Sridharan's nephew Balagopalan aka Balan (Mammootty). A bad dream which Balan had, had everyone suspecting that Balan was turning mad & soon, everyone started treating Balan differently. Bit by bit, Balan starts to lose his grip on reality.
