a pretty decent fantasy romp that, while dated, still has entertainment value. it's biggest problems are poor writing and acting, but that can be forgiven in exchange for the dragon vs. cyclops fight.

A really charming and fun fantasy film. They did a great job making the bad guy come across as sneaky in a way that leaves you wondering for a while where his heart is. If you're into fantasy stuff, I highly recommend this one, although it has one big flaw in the form of the kid who plays the genie. He's awful and hardly emotes anything except dyspepsia and hesitance.

Good adventure films that are no longer made... Quality entertainment that almost no longer exists ... Ray Harryhausen is a name that deserves to be better known.

I don't think anyone would really want to see this if not for special effects created by claymation wizard Harryhousen. This movie has the most useless genie I have ever seen or read about! Imagine yourself trapped in a cave with fucking fire-breathing dragon and evil wizard. Naturally you are asking your genie to get you fuck out of the cave. And the little fucker gives you a rope, A DAMN ROPE! Swing your way out... What happened to good old teleportation?!

It's that 50's charm that really helps pull this through; especially with Kathryn Grant. Besides the snake woman this is also some of Harryhausen's best work and proves it was worth the wait until he did this as his first color film.

Terrible. It's like they're reading the script off of the person in front of them. Although I must admit, the fighting scenes were very funny.

Hooray for glued-on chest hair! The plot is forgettable, B-movie fodder at best, but Harryhausen's special effects are incredible. That last skeleton fight is simply amazing. I wish claymation was still hot.

What a goofy film (Sinbad's chest hair is sponge-painted on, reminding us that another Connery can always bring back its sex appeal; and no one is anywhere close to Arabic looking). Plus, the plot is something lifted from a lesser 60's Star Trek episode. The redemption, then, comes in Harryhausen's incredible SFX; and even on a large screen, I can't really tell it was claymation (the skeleton battle at the end!). Flawed, but awe-inspiring at the same time.
