interesting animation, but the plot dismisses the nuances in the original comics that make Tintin what it is.

For a movie that has crane (of industrial machine kind) fighting in it - unbelievably boring. Ugly animation too. I couldn't care less for the main character, any character for that matter. Since I am not familiar with the original story, this is just another Hollywood animation, and mediocre at that.

I quite enjoyed this. An exciting adventure and babysitting a scottish drunk. Much better than the last Indiana Jones film but the ending is pretty underwhelming, as I guess it's some sort of set up for a sequel.

Wow! As much as I (mostly) can't stand animated movies, the CGI nature of this particular movie just exponents the adventure & fun of watching it. I got kind of sick of the blistering barnackles in the end, and perhaps the movie should focus a bit more on the mystery note and less on the car/bike/plane/boat chases, but nonetheless - it's a great ride!

Everything feels very forced and "hey look at me," and the story feels like a series of absurd adventures strung together that conveniently fall in place at the end because they have to. Even so it does provide silly entertainment and the set pieces, contrived though they may be, are well enough executed to at least partially forgive the problems.

The work the animators put into this movie struck me immediately and stayed with me throughout. It must have taken a Herculean effort to animate these characters while avoiding the uncanny valley. I greatly enjoyed the increasingly blood-pumping action scenes. The writers did a great job weaving together three different Tintin tales into a coherent story about inheritance. I just wish the film hadn't ended on such a striking anticlimax. (I thought it was a false ending until the credits rolled.)

Spielberg at full force. Visually outstanding and rich in creative and fun ideas. The writing may be a bit too clunky to line up with his greatest, but the kids won't mind at all. Count me in for the next one.

Great animation sequences, so-so plot. Overall it just felt like it was lacking in the character development department >> Mainly with TinTin. I felt little or no connection with TinTin (unlike Indiana Jones)- Snowy [the dog] had more personality. Haddock was great and actually developed nicely. Seemed the whole film was just a practice-run at motion-capture. A sort-of "hey James Cameron we can do this too!" But I'd watch Avatar again over this, an I didn't really like Avatar.

What a fantastically fun movie! The animation is incredible, how they did it for a budget of only 120m is beyond me. This is motion capture animation done right. It's done very much in the style of Indiana Jones, except since it's animation the shots can be much, much more elaborate. The scenes in the boats, and the one long continuous shot with the bird and the scrolls are both amazing. The plot is also really enjoyable. One of the best animated, and adventure movie of all time.

Probably the most technically impressive animation I've seen yet. The action parts are absolutely stunning. Unfortunately the characterisation of Tintin doesn't quite live up to the books (although Haddock is very well done), but hopefully this will be improved in the sequels. Also, the awesome Tintin theme song from the cartoon was badly needed here, and it's unclear what possible reason there could have been for leaving it out.

Jaw-droppingly impressive visually, great voice acting and a rip-roaring adventure. Quite a few chuckles too, thanks to Captain Haddock's penchant for the bottle. Full of verve and style and lots of lovely little touches. CGI films don't get much better than this.

With incredible graphics & tasteful 3D, this animated adventure, though slow to start due to over-narration, soon gives way to spirited sleuthing and solid action. This is sometimes jarringly juxtaposed with "family friendly" / slapstick silliness (e.g. the pickpocket at the apartment, superfluous zero-g airplane dives, and some over-long battles including the cranes and--especially--the one in the mirage/flashback) and ultimately this reduces a potentially great film to something merely good.

Holy moly! What great graphics.. no wonder this movie was so expensive to make! Loved the comics when I was a child and great to see tintin in real life on screen.. although I didnt feel the same magic as when I was reading the comic.. now it's a little too much about 3D and the over the top action.. pffff

The only drawback of this movie is that it doesnt capture the vision set by Herge for Tintin. The animation work done in this film is impressive. I feel that adaption is weak and important aspects of the story have been cut short in preference for action scenes that would look good in 3D.

This is a story about a dog. NO! This is a story about a guy and his dog. That's right. It's a story that almost makes up for what Spielberg did in "Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" and just for that, I'm not going to teach his grandmother to suck eggs. A good story, great animation, good voice acting all around. I really wish I could have seen this one in the theater. Seems like the marketing efforts failed on this one though because I never saw anything for it.
