Finally Mr. Whino is gone and we got a fresh reboot. It's not high flying stuff, but not a disappointment either. Looking forward to the next part.

This movie has a lot of flaws, like poor writing and a very lame version of The Lizard as a villain. One of the worst things is that Garfield is just a bad actor, making Peter Parker into a very annoying character. Overall, this is easily the worst Spider-Man movie.

Liked it more than I thought I would. Some parts of it are really good and some are not. Like, sometimes I loved Andrew Garfield and other times I missed Tobey Macguire which is pretty much something I would never expect myself to say ever. Emma Stone is a jewel.

It's a bit rushed. Which inevitably leads to some stuff falling short.
Kinda awesome, though. Very cool performances and a great ending.
And Emma Stone was hotter than ever! Did not expect that...

This is a solid reboot of a rather recent series of films that probably didn't need to be done so soon, but it has been done very well. Andrew Garfield is great as the new Peter Parker and overall it's a great cast! Storyline is similar to how the other series starts out but things change here and there. MJ is no more but Gwen is in the leading lady role played by the gorgeous Emma Stone who does a great job! Overall it's nothing but entertainment and quite enjoyable to watch :)

This film is confusing and it becomes quite a repeat of the first Spiderman film, just with better graphics. I was drawn to how Andrew Garfield played Peter Parker to compare it with Tobey Maguire's version and there are certain differences which make them good in their own way. The Lizard was better than the Green Goblin as it felt more real and the humour was a little more 'snappy'.

Swing by this web site and you'll sense that this was a movie with a lot of heart, excellent action, but a few issues that poison the story line. A few plot strings are dropped out of no where, but it's enjoyable enough that I was forgiving.

I was a big Spider-man fan as a kid, it was the only comic I followed with any consistency, and this is definitely the best on-screen portrayal of the material I have seen yet. The cast is great and well-cast, especially Garfield and Emma Stone, whose chemistry is palpable. The screenplay is really effective and sells the origin story in a surprisingly natural way. It has it's share of cheese and the special effects of the lizard left a bit to be desired, but fantastic overall.

Despite a strong feeling of deja-why and a rushed plot, the new spidey is a more pleasing encounter than its older brother. Perhaps because its high-school storyline and the actors involved aren't as downright annoying.

Where Raimi's Spider-Mans went mostly traditional, The Amazing Spider-Man attempts to modernize the story a bit, and for the most part it succeeds. The action scenes are spot on and look much better than Raimi's ever did, and besides a few lines by Garfield, the acting is more than adequate for a Spider-Man movie. Sadly it's almost completely undone by a atrociously hokey Michael Bay style final act (mostly the crane scene) that had absolutely no business in the movie.

unforgivably bland, which is something that even at their worst the sam raimi movies never were. and in all its efforts to separate itself from those films at any cost, it makes everything pointlessly convoluted. it looks decent enough throughout and it has its moments (i like the little mini-arc they give to flash thompson) but they're far between and incredibly fleeting.

Genericsuperhero flick, and for a 2012 big budget movie, it didn't even have big visuals or action to prop it up. Andrew Garfield is a good actor but his cool sauve is not right for Peter Parker, who's supposed to be a geeky kid. It also doesn't feel like there's any connection to Spiderman - the man in the suit is completely different, and there's no indication to how the alter-egos affect each other. The film is devoid of any interesting supporting characters. Original trilogy was better.

It's good and plenty of fun except during the "love scenes" between Peter Parker and Gwen Stacey, which just result in both Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield being utter bumbling buffoons. Simply put those moments are just outright terrible. Thankfully the rest of the film is certainly watchable, though Peter's family conspiracy feels quite forced.

Plot moves forward as if the writers don't give a fuck. They'd have been better off putting: "He got bit by a radioactive spider" in writing in the beginning and using the time saved to develop the antagonist. We all know the backstory anyway. Also: You don't hire directors for a project simply because you're amused at the prospect of some good jokes regarding their surname in future PR campaign. +1 for the "the jocks will like you if your uncle is killed" morale, though.

I really think this is underrated by a lot of people. Despite the obvious flaw of a rehashed story, I think looking past that, every aspect of this film is immensely superior to any other adaption, not just that of Raimi. Amazing acting; Stone never ceases to amaze me. Smart slick humour which I always love, and pretty damn great action sequences. A few odd soundtrack choices, but apart from that and a few other flaws, I don't see much wrong with this film. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

An enjoyable remake with a darker story than the last trilogy. Garfield and Stone were both good with decent chemistry on screen. Only downside would be the traditional superhero movie clichés, especially at the end. The franchise has promise though.
