very good movie 10 out of 10

Good cast (Dreyfuss and Warden in particular). Joe Silver as Mr. Farber was a real treat :)

One of Ted Kotcheff's best. A good, well-devised drama with a few giggles. Not particularly flattering to Jews, but that's a given since it was written and directed by them.

Wonderful performances, and an even better ending ('put it up on the board') but lacks the sense of tragedy that the book has.

Imperfect but interesting and contains some genuinely hilarious moments. Score based on distant recollection.

This was well worthwhile, not quite a hidden gem, but close. Dreyfuss and Quaid were both excellent, it was well acted in general. Well paced and funny, although it is a little too simple. The 'documentary scene' is absolutely hilarious though.
