Summary: Shaw is an operative for the United Nations' covert dirty-tricks squad, using espionage and quasi-ethical tactics to secure peace and cooperation. When a shipping container full of dead Vietnamese refugees turns up on the docks and China's ambassador is gunned down at a dinner celebrating a new trade agreement with China and the US, Shaw is framed for the murder and must evade the FBI and Triad gangsters to find out what is really going on. Aside from a decent ending fight sequence, Wesley Snipes proves he still can't carry any film by himself that doesn't have "Blade" somewhere in the title.
An action movie with only mediocre action. That's a problem. While it's not really a bad movie it's certainly nothing special. Not bad enough to remember, not good enough to remember either and thus it's forgettable (unless you're a huge Wesley Snipes fan).
Wholly disengaged action sequences act as filler for a loose Chinese/American assassination plot involving the United Nations and one of its superagents (Wesley Snipes) being framed for murder, but the storyline is so poorly constructed that for all its setup, there's nothing to really follow. All the studio delivers is a mindless Wesley Snipes spy thriller with poor action sequences, a boring 'hero,' no central villain, and an absolutely useless and uneventful conspiracy plot.
The twist and subsequent ending should be obvious to a child after the first 15 minutes. In the meantime, enjoy generic, cliche scenes, and a lack of any action, despite being, you know, an action film. Genuine garbage.
Wes could stand to do a better movie. Are most of the action scenes filmed in silhouette or with out his head so he doesn't have to do the actions? How about this convoluted hard to follow who gives a poop plot, huh? A couple decent stunts.
